Abeokuta Set to Host Nigeria’s Largest Poultry Show of 2025 — A Boost for Agribusiness Innovation and Food Security

The historic city of Abeokuta in Ogun State is preparing to host one of Africa’s most anticipated agricultural events — the 14th edition of the Nigeria Poultry Show 2025. Organized by the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), South West Zone, the exhibition is scheduled to take place from November 4th to 6th, 2025, at the prestigious Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL). The event is expected to attract thousands of local and international participants, cementing its place as one of the biggest gatherings of poultry experts and agribusiness investors in sub-Saharan Africa.

According to Rev. Oluleye Gideon Olugbeja, the Chairman of PAN South-West and National Vice President of the association, the Nigeria Poultry Show has grown tremendously over the years, both in participation and influence. He noted that the event now ranks among the largest poultry exhibitions in Africa, second only to one in South Africa. The 2025 edition, he said, aims to provide a robust platform for stakeholders to explore new innovations, technologies, and market opportunities that will shape the future of poultry farming in Nigeria.

Olugbeja further emphasized that the poultry sector remains a vital contributor to Nigeria’s agricultural economy, providing jobs, food security, and raw materials for related industries. He called on poultry farmers, feed millers, vaccine producers, equipment manufacturers, researchers, and policymakers to take advantage of the event to share ideas, form partnerships, and drive sustainable development within the industry. He added that this year’s show will focus on resilience, innovation, and value-chain development as the nation seeks to expand local production and reduce dependence on imports.

Dr. Samuel Olalekan Odunsi, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, expressed confidence that the 2025 Poultry Show will surpass previous editions in impact and scale. He revealed that exhibitors and participants from across Africa, Europe, and Asia have already confirmed their attendance. The show will feature technical sessions, exhibitions, training workshops, and business networking opportunities designed to strengthen Nigeria’s poultry ecosystem. Dr. Odunsi underscored that the event will serve as a convergence point for ideas that will enhance production efficiency and introduce climate-smart innovations in poultry management.

Also speaking ahead of the event, Mrs. Blessing Alawode, one of the show’s coordinators, assured that all logistical arrangements have been finalized to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for all attendees. She mentioned that security, accommodation, and transportation have been carefully planned in collaboration with local authorities and private partners. Alawode expressed optimism that the Abeokuta Poultry Show will not only promote investment in poultry farming but also boost tourism and local economic activity in Ogun State.

The Nigeria Poultry Show 2025 comes at a time when the nation’s poultry industry is seeking fresh strategies to overcome challenges such as high feed costs, disease management, and limited access to finance. Through its exhibitions, panel discussions, and product showcases, the event is expected to inspire farmers to adopt modern farming techniques and strengthen value-chain integration.

Ultimately, the Abeokuta Poultry Show 2025 is more than just an exhibition — it is a movement toward agricultural transformation, innovation, and self-sufficiency. As Nigeria continues to position itself as a leader in poultry production across Africa, this gathering will serve as a catalyst for collaboration, investment, and technological advancement that will sustain the industry for years to come.
