Ross® Central Africa (RCA), a joint venture of Aviagen®, successfully held its annual Breeder Distributor Customer Focus Team (DCFT) meeting from September 15 to 19, 2025, at the Protea Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia. Over 70 participants from Central and Southern Africa, including Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia, attended the event. They engaged in presentations on breeder management, nutrition, biosecurity, and flock performance, along with hands-on sessions to enhance their skills.

Victor Kwaramba, Technical & Operations Director of Hatch Solutions in Zimbabwe, expressed his appreciation, saying, “On behalf of Hatch Solutions, I’m grateful for the invaluable learning experience at the DCFT—an opportunity to gain insights from industry leaders in a collaborative environment.”

Sheldon Sande, a Hatchery Quality Control Technician from Mozambique, emphasized the event’s impact: “The DCFT fostered knowledge exchange and cultural interactions, broadening my perspective on poultry farming. The discussions on Salmonella control highlighted the importance of ensuring safety in production. This experience has greatly fueled my passion for the industry.”

Misumbi Ng’onga, Hatchery Supervisor at Zamharvest Zambia, added, “The DCFT has been an exciting experience, teaching me vital lessons about production and data accuracy that will transform how I approach challenges in my work.”
