Angola: Fazenda Agropecuária Chine e Filhos, situated in the vibrant region of Camunda within the municipality of Calussinga in Bié province, commenced its poultry production in January, delivering an impressive output of 3,500 chickens each month. This initiative is strategically designed to bolster the supply of chicken meat available on the national market, aiming to meet growing consumer demand.
Evaristo Chivinda, the dedicated owner of the farm, emphasised that the primary objective is to enhance local chicken meat production and diminish reliance on imported poultry. Chivinda expressed ambition for future growth, announcing plans to double production capacity to 6,500 chickens per month beginning in 2026. “One of the key challenges we have embraced is to increase our chicken production significantly. The Angolan government is resolute in its effort to boost the availability of this essential product on the national market, which is why we have taken on this commitment,” he asserted.
Initially, the chicken produced at Fazenda Chine e Filhos will be marketed in the bustling communities of Bié and the adjacent province of Huambo, targeting local markets that are eager for fresh poultry.
Egg Production
In addition to their chicken endeavors, Fazenda Chine e Filhos Ltd. also specializes in egg production, generating approximately 4,320 eggs daily. This output plays a vital role in the nutritional well-being of families residing in Bié and Huambo. Chivinda noted, “We take pride in the high quality of our products, which are in significant demand. To further streamline our operations and reduce costs, we are planning to produce our own feed.”
The farm boasts the potential to ramp up egg production to 28,000 eggs per day; while this ambitious target has yet to be fully realized, Chivinda is optimistic about achieving it next year, thanks to ongoing investments in infrastructure and technology.
Since its establishment in 2017, Fazenda Chine e Filhos Ltd. has been a key player in the agricultural sector, operating on an expansive 2,000-hectare land area. The farm employs over 50 individuals, with a strong emphasis on hiring young talent, thereby contributing to local employment and skill development in the region.
