Philippines bans beef and poultry product imports from The Netherlands and Turkey

As a result of the outbreak of mad cow disease in The Netherlands and avian influenza in Turkey, the Department of Agriculture (DA) recently imposed a temporary ban on the import of cattle-based products from The Netherlands and poultry-based products from Turkey

The ban is however exceptional to meat and poultry shipments from The Netherlands and Turkey respectively, that are in transit/ loaded/ accepted unto port prior to the issue of the order. 

According to a report by Asia News Network, the DA has assured to carry out rigorous, on-site inspections in all major ports of entry.
